We are recruiting for an interim Marketing Communications and PR Manager for a non-profit organization in Sacramento. This role is responsible for coordination, promotion and expansion of the resources that support and publicize the organization's advocacy work. Position provides overall leadership, management, and supervision of media and external communications. This is a contract opportunity.

Responsibilities: Design overall marketing and communication strategy. Coordinate development of organization's strategic plan and annual advocacy goals and objectives. Work with staff to develop and monitor unit budgets and assist with development of agency budget. Develop, implement, promote and monitor fundraising activities, including launching new fundraising campaigns, coordinating promotion with Communications, responding to donors, and tracking outcomes. Assist Board members in fundraising activities. Provide overall direction regarding media activities, including print and socialmedia, with the goal of increasing media presence. Coordinate with the Communications Director and other staff, as appropriate, branding, promoting, and publicizing organization's work.

Requirements: Seven years progressively responsible experience in administration and management of complex human services organization. Bachelor's Degree in related subjects such as communications, public relations, business, development. Ability to effectively navigate public relations channels including print, television and social media. Demonstrated experience in project management, including leading organization-wide cyclical processes. Excellent conflict resolution/team building skills. Demonstrated experience working with and providing support to boards of directors and/or similar task forces and committees. Ability to represent an organization effectively through a wide variety of channels, including public relations, social media, legal, and legislative. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with attorneys. Must be able to travel occasionally for activities such as board meetings, team meetings, education, training, or outreach activities up to 25% of the time.
