Legal Secretary (Litigations) - Direct Hire
Responsibilities: Legal Document Preparation and Filing. Compose documents including complex legal documents and forms from transcription, handwritten drafts, or notes; transcribe voice mail messages and attorney dictation. Communicate with clients and outside counsel via phone and email; work with clients to obtain signatureson legal documents; coordinate client travel for in-person meetings and hearings. File and Document Management - Scan, copy, fax, print, and organize documents; open new client/matters using firm's electronic records system; maintain electronic and physical files; prepare and maintain trial binders; and transmit voluminous electronic documents via secure file sharing website. Review calendars and monitor docketing deadlines; maintain Outlook contacts lists; distribute internal and external mail electronically and/or by hard copy; schedule meetings and coordinate reservations for conference rooms and lunches; track Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits and prepare compliance reports to state bar associations. Answer phone calls and relay phone messages; arrange travel; and comply with firm policies, including confidentiality.
Requirements: 2-3 years legal administrative support experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, and Bates Labelling and Editing documents using Adobe Acrobat Pro. Experience with law firm software, such as Timeslips, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and LexisNexis. Experience with E-filing, in state and federal court, and PACER. Excellent initiative and follow through. Ability to work independently. Strong organizational, grammar, and proofreading skills. Accurately type 75+ wpm.
Salary: $60, 000-$65, 000/year
