A mission driven organization in Sacramento is seeking an Internal Auditor to join their team. This company offers outstanding benefits, a fitness center facility and other employee discounts. This role will audit Service Providers for compliance and assist with corrective action. The Internal Auditor works to review Service Provider costs, conducts accounting functions and reviews the Purchase of Services and Operation items to assure accuracy ofdata. Position also assists in accounting month-end and year-end processes related to audit and reconciliations.

Responsibilities: Research and analyze inquiries concerning interpretation of regulations and resolvequestions. Conduct examinations of Service Providers' financial records. Assist Service Providers in correcting deficiencies. Review business administration/operation practices and assess for reasonable and effective procedures. Issue audit report of findings. Assist Service Providers and company staff with cost statement preparation, approval of budgets, and budget changes. Provide support for audits of company by outside agencies; respond to requests, provide support, and liaise with external auditors. Comply with required reporting timelines, documentation, and record retention requirements. Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive records, information, and communication. Ensure accuracy and integrity of general ledger account activity and service provider data. Provide high-level support to Accounting Unit staff as assigned and directed by the Controller.

Requirements: 2 years' experience in public or private accounting. 1 year experience public or internal auditing. Bachelor's Degree Finance or Accounting required: Master's degree preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. Demonstrated ability to prepare accounting Statements. Analytical skills and ability to interpret financial Information. Excellent communications skills; verbal and written. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing demands and tasks. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), especially government or nonprofit.
