Responsibilities: Educates patient about treatment process. Prepares patient for treatment; capturesall vital signs and other key indicators. Documents and obtains patient's history including lab results. Triages telephone calls from patients receiving treatment. Assesses and directs patients accordingly. Reviews and sorts labreports, radiology and other correspondence that correlates with patient visit. Monitors clinical supply inventory, requisitions supplies, and coordinates restock process. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipmentand supplies. Initiates and administers pre-medications ordered by the physician prior to treatment. Administers treatment while continuously monitoring patient vital signs, and observing patient for signs and symptoms of adverse reaction to treatment as ordered by the physician. Maintains patient comfort throughout treatment. Performsmiscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the physician.
Requirements: 2+ years' Registered Nurse with Radiation/Oncology experience. Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. Current California ProfessionalNursing License. Current BLS. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated knowledge of patient evaluation and triage procedures. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals. Ability to provide direct evaluation and consultation to patients.
