A premier organization in downtown Sacramento is seeking a Healthcare Insurance Account Representative to service the company's small group health insurance. This is a long term contract to hire opportunity! The ideal candidate is customer service oriented, but confident and assertive when working with carriers and solving issues. The Account Representative is responsible for all aspects of servicing existing accounts including additions, terminations, cancellations, billing inquiries, renewals, and for placing new business, such as census data, quoting, applications, carrier communications, and documentation.

Responsibilities: Accountable for day to day servicing of individual & family, Medicare and small group health clients. Communicate with group administrators and execute small group renewals. Monthly accounting of new business, broker of record and renewing business with team lead. New business sales of individual, small group and Medicare policies. To include application submission to underwriting, communicating additional underwriting requests, broker of record requests and follow ups with contracted health insurance carriers and members. Accurately collect and enter policyholder data, premium and secure information into brokerage and internal systems through the sales processes. Cross promote additional brokerage lines of coverage and seeks referral opportunities. Continually stay up to date with Healthcare legislation industry changes, including ACA, and Association plans.

Requirements: Minimum5 years' experience in the insurance industry, specifically in the area of Health Insurance Sales & Customer Service. Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred. Life & Health Agent's licenses required. Demonstrated knowledge of Health Insurance Industry (Individual, Small Group, Medicare), carriers, Affordable Care Act (ACA), Plan Offerings, insurance forms and service processes. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Strong customer service and phone etiquette. Proficient MS Office skills; experience with CRMor other database management program. Highly articulate, analytical, problem solver, and team oriented.
