We are recruiting for a Health Care Information Technology Manager for a mission driven organization in the GreaterSacramento area. This is a direct hire opportunity and this position has 1 report.

Responsibilities: Develop working knowledge of all applications within the electronic health record; become a NextGen certified professional. Develop the NG templates, editing as directed by the CMO, CQO, and COO; apply changes and configurations. Assist with file maintenance. Serve as team leader to implement information technology including electronic medical records (EMR) and maintain the practice management system (EPM) at all clinical sites. Design and develop learning tools for traditional and distance learning. Act as Help Desk support for all EHR/EPM application issues. Serve as departmental liaison to OSIS/ NextGen. Hire, train, schedule and evaluate Training Specialists. Contribute to clinic workflow redesign initiatives to ensure clinic operations systems interface optimally with the EPM/EMR and all services information technology. Plan, coordinate and assist with health center staff training and follow up technical assistance and troubleshooting.

Requirements: Minimum 3 years' experience in outpatient health services, preferably in a community health/FQHC. Minimum 2 years supervisingEPM or EHR technical personnel or training personnel; developing technical training curriculums for all levels. BA or BS degree in a health services or management field. Master degree in technology and/or education preferred. Proficient with integrated practice management systems and with electronic health record applications such as NextGen required. Experience with analytical manipulation and interpretation of large data bases and data access applications such as Crystal Reports or Sequel. Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with all types of clinic, technical and administrative personnel. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to plan complex projects, set priorities and work independently. Flexibility in working hours, including the ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
