Director of Environmental Services
Responsibilities: Plans, directs, organizes, coordinates and supervises the operations and functions relating to Environmental Services, Patient Transportation and Hazardous and Regulated Medical Waste. Develops and administers policies, procedures, and department goals and objectives. Ensures cost effective, high quality operations of the department. Coordinates and assists in department quality assurance and employee training programs. Participates in the development of theEnvironmental Services and Transportation Services budgets. Ensures compliance with local, State, and Federal regulation requirements.
Requirements: Experience as Safety, Patient Transportation & Environmental Services Director of a large, complex hospital required. Bachelor's degree required. Business, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or related healthcare field preferred. Knowledge of Environmental Services and PatientTransportation operations in an acute care/non acute care setting as it relates to work standards, job descriptions, policies and procedures, workload balancing, quality control, budgeting, and department operations required. Strong background in all aspects of hospital Safety management and operations, including Workers' Compensation. Demonstrated experience planning and administration of healthcare Environment of Care and Occupational Health and Safety programs and training. California hospital background is preferred due to complex state regulations. Knowledge of hazardous materials, chemical handling and transportation procedures and protocolsis required.
