A long standing and stable construction company in the Sacramento area is in need of a Certified Payroll Specialistto be responsible for supporting all functions of payroll processing and distribution on a weekly basis. Candidatesmust have hands on experience with certified payroll reports and union reporting. This is full time, temporary to hire opportunity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete timely and accurate weekly payroll processing through check cutting and direct deposit processing; ensuring accuracy of wages, deductions, fringes, taxes and allrelated job costing, general ledger posting, and filings; working with superintendents to ensure accuracy of timecards and correct for inaccuracies. Processing all state and other forms in conjunction with prevailing wage jobs and union reporting including weekly certified payroll, etc. Deductions processing - advances and garnishments; tracking and transmittals. Wage rate lookup for prevailing wage or union jobs. 401(k) processing - enrollment, tracking, monthly transmittals and plan audits. Coordinates use of pension and 401(k) administrators. Keeping attendance logs in accordance with FMLA direction, Workers Compensation tracking, processing and audits. Maintain data and records in a way that ensures confidential records are maintained as such. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: At least 4 years Payroll experience required. Experience with processing certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting is highly desired but not required. Previous or current construction industry experience is a plus. Proficient user in MS Excel, Word and Outlook. AA Degree or equivalent experience.
