Certified Anesthesia Medical Coder
Responsibilities Verify the procedure, diagnosis and time on each case. Email and/or place phone calls for assistance if needed. Provide proper codes to assure payment from insurance is in compliance with State and Federal Billing guidelines. Workload is organized by Date of Service and completed work is counted and delivered tothe coding department before close of each day. All new work has a 48 hour turnaround. Log completed work into Excel Spreadsheets. Assist Surgeon, Physician and/or Surgeon staff with coding issues / problems. Act a Liaison forPhysician communication and education. Provide procedure estimates on anesthesia services and pain work to surgeons, facilities and patients.
Requirements Two years coding experience, anesthesia coding required. Current CPC-P Certification including continued education credits or, if not currently certified, CPC-P Certification is to be accomplished within a reasonable timeframe. Medical terminology is required. Respect for the confidentiality of the patient's account and medical history. Ability to understand oral and written instructions as well as communicate clearly. Communicate with fellow employees, team members and management in a clear, respectful and courteous manner. Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
