Assistant Controller - Direct Hire
This newly developed Assistant Controller role will work in partnership with other extremely bright and effective leaders and be responsible for all accounting and finance functions for an organization that provides cutting edge care and technology. Candidates with public accounting and strong financial planning experience are highly desired. This is a full time, direct hire position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Controller in overseeing accounting, billing, collections, payroll and financial reporting functions. Corrects and guides other team members as to general ledger accounts, costing and reconciliations, audits the work of the accounting department, provides direction and training as needed for procedures, new programs, or processes. Lead the preparation of annual budget and rolling forecasts for monthly, quarterly, and year- end analyses. Performs general ledger and close responsibilities identified in assigned checklist for journal entries and reconciliations, cash accounting, fixed assets, fund reporting, ownership reporting and financial and regulatory reporting and supports updates. In a timely manner prepares complex journal entries and other forms for month-end general ledger close for area of responsibility (e.G. Specific program or set of accounts) as consistent with established policies. Prepares complex general ledger account reconciliations for area of responsibility and resolves issues ina timely manner. Prepares tax, audit, quarterly reporting, and various regulatory schedules/filings. Other projectsas assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business concentrations is required. CPA license is required. Must have a minimum of five years accounting experience and two years prior supervisory experience preferably in public accounting. Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
