Job Description
We are recruiting an experienced Worker’s Compensation Claims Manager for an industrial company in the Roseville area. Our client is an industry leader that offers a hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote), and an amazing company culture that values and supports their employees. The Worker’s Compensation Claims Manager is responsible for managing, processing, overseeing, reviewing, and analyzing Workers’ Compensation, automotive and general liability claims involving the company and assisting with other safety related matters such as safety auditing and training. This is a non-exempt position. Pay: $40-$58/hour.
The qualified candidate will have experience with worker’s compensation claims administration, and strategy, and experience negotiating claims/settlements if they become litigated. Must be able to travel 50% of the time in the field including to Reno, NV.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and oversee all workers' compensation claims from initial report to resolution.
- Coordinate with injured employees, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers to ensure timely medical treatment and claims processing.
- Monitor and evaluate claims to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize claim costs and reduce company liability.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to workers' compensation claims.
- Provide training and guidance to HR and management on workers' compensation processes and best practices.
- Collaborate with legal counsel as necessary to manage complex claims and litigation.
- Perform job site Safety Audits/Inspections via in-person site visits.
- Participate in job start safety meetings to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards/conditions onsite.
- Develop, plan, and create training courses for the company online Learning Management System (LMS).
- Assist and participate in developing and delivering safety training courses.
- Coordinate with the safety team and management to ensure timely and accurate work site injury reporting and documentation.
- Manage highly complex investigations of claims, including coverage issues, liability, compensability, and damages.
- Proactively build and manage relationships and expectations with applicable medical providers and clinics.
- Review, approve or provide oversight of medical, legal, damage estimates and miscellaneous invoices to determine if reasonable and related to designated claims. Negotiate any disputed bills or invoices for resolution.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field preferred, Associate’s degree required.
- 5+ years of experience managing workers' compensation claims.
- In-depth knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Highly dependable, ability to meet deadlines a prioritize workload.
- Certifications such as WCCP (Workers' Compensation Claims Professional) are a plus.
