We are recruiting for a strong Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager to join an organization that has been recognized as One of Sacramento’s Best Places to work! The AP/AR Manager provides day-to-day leadership of department team members; to ensure that production standards are met and to act as a resource to others. Salary Range: $75,000-$90,000 DOE. This is an on-site position in Sacramento.


The ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of hands-on AP and AR management experience in a high volume and fast paced organization.

Accounts Payable Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Accounts Payable functions, including vendor relationships for multiple locations.
  • Supports all AP specialists in the day-to-day activities of the department.
  • Supervises the 1099 process ensuring all proper forms are received from vendors and reporting requirements to taxing authorities are completed within required filing deadlines.
  • Manages vendor database, including setup of new vendors.
  • Supervises the timely AP processing and approves payment of a high volume of invoices.
  • Works with the AP team on meeting month end close timelines.
  • Ensures vendor reconciliations are completed monthly.
  • Responsible for administrative and review controls in the accounts payable/disbursement process.
  • Develops and implements new internal policies and processes to increase productivity and efficiencies.
  • Provides training, continuous feedback and performance evaluations for AP team.
  • Prepares monthly accruals for invoices not entered in the ERP system.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Accounts Receivable Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operation of the accounts receivable department; review work prepared by associates and specialists for accuracy and appropriate handling; ensuring production requirements are completed within quality and time standards.
  • Apply knowledge of accounts receivable methods to department operations and develop and maintain up-to-date documented procedures.
  • Perform complex accounting processes; simultaneously handling multiple tasks; establishing and maintaining audit trails.
  • Supervise the activities of a department and promote a positive experience for team members as a servant leader.
  • Manage relationships with third-parties and provide oversight of third-party billing.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers, management, vendors and others; answer questions, provide documents, explain procedures, interpret policy, resolve discrepancies and complex problems and ensure resolution of all issues in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Review and approve reports and journal entries generated within department; review expenses and payroll time records, track records and audit for accuracy.
  • Investigate and propose process and efficiency opportunities and implement approved changes in the department.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years Full cycle AP and AR experience
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to train departmental employees in proper accounting practices and procedures.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Advanced MS Excel Skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-paced and frequently changing department.
