Job Description
Pacific Staffing is recruiting a dynamic Patient Services Representative to a thriving nonprofit healthcare organization in the Sacramento area. The Patient Services Representative will efficiently handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and assist callers with inquiries about organization services. This is an onsite, long-term contract position. Pay: $22/hr. to $28/hr., DOE.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years’ call center or medical front office experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct prescreening interviews for incoming calls, gathering pertinent information to determine appropriate actions.
- Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously, directing callers to the correct person or department or assisting with their requests.
- Update patient demographics and schedule appointments in accordance with established guidelines.
- Verify insurance eligibility for new and existing patients seeking appointments.
- Respond to patient inquiries and provide general information about services available at One Community Health.
- Conduct daily telephone appointment confirmations to ensure schedule accuracy.
- Maintain proper documentation of caller information in accordance with company policy.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years’ call center or medical front office experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct concise and informed interviews over the phone.
- 2+ years’ scheduling appointments and verifying insurance eligibility preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing a high volume of incoming calls with professionalism.
