We are recruiting for a Labor Relations Specialist for our client in the Roseville area. This position performs day-to-day activities to coordinate activities related to labor relations and employee relations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Union Contracts, Labor contract negotiations, Policy support work, strong employee labor relations and best practices, and knowledge of federal and state labor laws. This is a long term, contract opportunity.

Responsibilities: Supports the labor negotiation process by collecting information from HR systems and other sources as needed; compiles and presents the information. Prepares drafts of the Collective Bargaining Agreement under the direction of the negotiator (HR Business Partners, Counsel, etc.) In case of strikes, coordinates the ordering and on-boarding of temporary staff. Coordinates the collection and communicaiton of existing HR policies, the review, revision, communication, publishing and archiving of policies. Deploys employee opinion surveys, ensures that communications are created and distributed. Collaborates with HR to collect and provide appropriate data to HR Business Partners to support Employee Relations processes such as grievances, investigations, agency complaints or lawsuits. Administers processes for monitoring employee productivity metrics.

Requirements: 2 years labor relations or employee relations experience required. AA/AS in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Industrial Relations or equivalent experience and education is required. Knowledge of labor relations or employee relations best practice processes, systems or tools. General understanding of HR functions including labor relations or employee relations and Federal and State laws including labor laws. Knowledge of labor contract negotiation and Collective Bargaining Agreement processes. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Highly analytical; able to identify information trends and determine solutions. Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems and applications. Experience in a health care setting is preferred.
