Job Description

The Human Excellence Manager position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employee and leadership needs across all business units. The position utilizes HR functions to deliver value-added services to leadership and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The Human Excellence Manager maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, mid-term planning goals, competition, and culture.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Work with leadership to create job descriptions that introduce great talent to the mission, culture and benefits of our client.
  • Conducts regular meetings with respective business units to encourage leadership to conduct regular performance reviews and set clear role expectations for their teams
  • Consult with leadership by providing HR guidance on how to communicate effectively with their team on a range of topics and situations when appropriate and as needed (e.G., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Participate in all functions of the recruiting process and consult with leadership on candidate pool to find the best fit for the desired position
  • Analyzes relative trends and metrics to develop necessary solutions, programs and policies that support business objectives
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues
  • Conducts effective, thorough and objective internal investigations as needed
  • Guide all managers on how to provide appropriate documentation records for personnel management and improvement conversations
  • Help leadership to prepare for terminations and lead these conversations when necessary to ensure employee understands expectations and facilitate professionalism in high stress environments
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance, partnering with company legal team as needed/required
  • Stay abreast of the new trends and tools in employee development and present them to leadership for consideration
  • Formalize compensation strategies to ensure that position compensation is reflective of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform successfully in that role, making adjustments across the company for cost of living differences 
  • Work closely with leadership and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity, engagement and retention
  • Develop and continually maintain career planning strategies for all levels of employees across the organization
  • Make connections with local vocational schools in relevant areas to create candidate pipelines and support community engagement for Collection Centers
  • Frequently research, draft, and interpret new and existing policies and SOPs
  • Develops contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers and ensure consistency in these factors across all locations
  • Assists international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
  • Support and advise on established leadership development training programs
  • Partner with the Training and Development Manager to identify training needs for various business units and individual members of leadership
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure successful and intended outcomes 
  • Ensures employee training is adequately documented and stored
  • Manages relationships with various recruiters to support recruiting efforts and negotiate contract terms
  • Support and advise Human Excellence Generalist(s) in managing the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to organizational exit including processing of unemployment claims, leaves of absences, worker compensation, employee safety and workplace ergonomics
  • Oversee all employee engagement programs
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in a relative field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
  • Maintains the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Sound decision making and organizational skills
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools and techniques
  • Ability to command respect at all levels of the organization, capable of highly independent work as well as being a team player and role model
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
