Responsibilities: Manages all financial transactions including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations and maintains accurate financial records. Financial management and reporting on individual research projects. Participates in the monthly financial close by preparing variance analysis against forecast and budget. Creates and maintains financial forecasts, including operating budgets, quarterly budget updates and multi-year strategic plans. Gathers and compiles raw data; conducts research on individual projects; and normalizes data to be incorporated into a centralized data format. Establishes cost centers and creates financial reporting systems for each research project. Allocates costs as prescribed in the individual project budgets to include direct and indirect costs. Prepares, distributes, and explains quarterly financial reports for active research projects to Principal Investigators and funding agencies as required. Provides recommendations based on findings and analysis.
Requirements: BS in Accountancy or Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field is required. 3-5 years of experience preparing and analyzing financial statements, preparing and analyzing budgets and/or completing financial analysis or financial forecasting. Advance MS Excel skills are required and candidates will be tested. Ability to communicate ideas both verbally and written to influence others using one-on-one contact, formal presentations, and group discussions.
