Job Description
We are recruiting a dynamic and professional Director of Marketing and Communications to join a leading education advocacy organization in the Sacramento area. The Director of Marketing and Communications will spearhead the strategic development and execution of comprehensive marketing plans, oversee project schedules, budgets, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. This is a hybrid schedule. Pay:$115k - $120k.
The ideal candidate has experience with both marketing and communication, project management, executive speech writing, and has worked with both digital and print media.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of long-and-short range marketing plans, ensuring project schedules and budgets are maintained.
- Create and delegate print and digital marketing materials, including newsletters, social media posts, brochures, pamphlets, and conference materials.
- Work closely with other departments and external stakeholders to develop and implement marketing and communications projects.
- Update websites and contribute to effective copywriting for various marketing channels.
- Collect, analyze, and utilize data analytics to influence social media, newsletters, and other marketing campaigns, while forecasting and tracking industry trends.
- Manage media inquiries, craft press releases, and write scripts and speeches for executive members.
- Represent the organization or executive staff in public speaking engagements.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing marketing, public relations, advertising, and/or sales programs.
- 2+ years’ supervisory experience.
- Extensive project management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with major coursework in marketing, public relations, advertising, business, or public administration, or a related field.
- Proven budget management skills while adhering to project deadlines.
- Proficiency in creating diverse marketing materials (print and digital).
- Web management skills and effective copywriting abilities.
- Data analytics expertise to influence marketing strategies.
- Experience in crafting speeches or scripts for executive staff.
- Ability to handle media inquiries and engage in public speaking on behalf of the organization.
- Demonstrated proficiency in budget development and administration principles and practices.
- Expert knowledge in marketing, public relations, advertising, and sales and contract principles and practices.
