Job Description
We are exclusively recruiting a Corporate Controller for a successful industry leading company with an exceptional company culture. The Corporate Controller will report to a dynamic CFO who takes pride in employee development and promotes a collaborative work environment. This is a hybrid role (4 days onsite in the corporate office in Roseville). Our client is open to paying a relocation package to a qualified candidate. Salary: $180k-$200k base DOE plus up to 25% bonus potential.
The Corporate Controller will be responsible to lead the organization’s financial functions of payroll, tax, accounts payable, cash management, and accounting by ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and best practice internal controls. Additionally, the Corporate Controller will assist with leading financial due diligence, financial systems integration, and purchase accounting.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Experience leading a team in a similar size division. There are currently around 7 employees working in the department. (Assistant Corporate Controller, Corporate Accountants(2), Construction Accountants(2), Payroll/Benefits Manager, and the A/p specialist).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Review and comment on monthly close, assist preparation of the annual audit and financial statement.
- Approve invoices for payment and review processed checks prepared for payment.
- Manage corporate and construction insurance.
- Ensure loan funding and timely payments of subcontractors, complete or direct capital contribution requests including accumulation of required documents
- Process and monitor cash positions for construction jobs and various company entities.
- Assist in the completion of annual corporate budget, cash flow forecast and periodic re-forecasts.
- Assist in pro-forma evaluation and project viability analysis.
- Complete monthly accounting department update, review completion of monthly Job-cost reports.
- Provide operational and cost efficiency measures.
- Ensure compliance of subcontractors of prevailing wage and Davis Bacon requirements.
- Support first year project audits.
- Manage cost certification audits.
- Complete project construction census reports.
- Provide feedback and analysis on potential software and/or other tools as requested by IT service providers.
- Manage the corporate and construction accounting teams.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field
- 7 to 10 years' experience with increasing responsibility with the last 3 years in a similar position
- Current CPA license required
- Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Awareness of partnership and corporate taxation, familiar with real estate investment and legal documents, ability to translate those documents to meet financial milestones
- Understand the real estate closing process
- Able to perform analytical analysis under various situations
- Formulation of budget from pro-forma
- Manage relationships with internal and external customers
- Knowledge of construction workflow, lien releases and prevailing wage/Davis Bacon concepts
