Business Analyst

We are recruiting for a Business Analyst to join one of the largest healthcare organizations in the Sacramento region. Ideal candidates should have experience utilizing and tracking data in an HRIS system. Position is responsible for understanding, assessing, and eliciting business and data needs of stakeholders. This is a 6 month contract position.

Responsibilities: Partner with stakeholders and team members to understand and assess the information needs of stakeholders. Review and/or help define specific data element business definition values in partnership with business process owners, data governance/data management professionals and information architects. Review, manage, and capture metadata, document data lineage, review data profiling results, and document data quality problems. Monitor document business rules in conjunction with business functional areas. Partner with source system owners, subject matter experts, and other data stewards to support implementation of a data management strategy. Develop and manage business relationships with associates, project team members, and senior leaders across the organization. Utilize standardized approach to capture and document metadata and issues across all assigned data domains. Integrate data from multiple data sources for varying levels of analysis (e.G. Individual, organizational, system). Develop and deliver status updates and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements: Minimum 3 years' experience; healthcare industry experience a plus. Bachelor's degree required. Strong technical skills coupled with business intelligence and a deep understanding of business areas needs so that they can be transformed into application or operational requirements. Must have experience with business case development and presentation, as well as negotiation and conflict management. Strong communication skills are necessary for this position, as it will interface with all levels of the business including Executive Management. Critical thinking and problem solving are key skills for this role. Ability to prioritize work with tight schedules and target date.
