Responsibilities: Prepares and conducts the benefits orientation meeting and enrolls new employees inbenefit plans within pre-established timeframes. Benefit Administration including medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and 401(k) plan. Prepares and verifies the calculation of the monthly premiums statements for all group insurance policies. 401K Administration - Enrolls new employees. Handles requests for withdrawals and roll-overs per Plan guidelines. Processes status changes, open enrollment changes, new enrollments, terminations of coverage, continuation coverage with external vendors or benefits providers by due date. Provides up-to-date and accurate benefits enrollment reports for management as requested. Administers health insurance continuation for departing employees. Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations. Monitors and maintains all FMLA & disability claims. Administers and tracks Family Medical Leave documents. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements: Minimum 3 years' experience working with benefits. Knowledge of California law, employee benefits, leave absence administration, and workplace accommodations. Must have good verbal and written communications skills. Strong organizational and administrative skills. An unquestionable ability to maintain confidentiality, and an unwavering understanding of the importance of maintaining and protecting employee information. Demonstrated analytical skills and a baseline knowledge of health plan designs. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently, as well as within a team, are essential.
