We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a well-respected non profit organization serving the greater Sacramento area. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a mission-driven team within a highly regarded accounting department, offering strong potential for professional growth. Position will be 100% on site.
Pay range: $26.00-$30.00/hour. DOE
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process high volume of vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and check requests accurately and timely
- Review invoices for proper approval and coding in compliance with internal policies
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
- Reconcile vendor statements and respond to inquiries from vendors and internal staff
- Maintain vendor records and ensure accurate 1099 reporting
- Assist with month-end closing tasks and financial audits
- Support Finance team with additional duties as needed
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience in nonprofit or government-funded organizations is a plus
